Steven Universe Fan, started out as some kind of neon style but I added the star from Steven Universe and I just went with it. The stripes on her leggings represent the Crystal Gems, purple for Amethyst, blue for Pearl, dark red for Garnet, red for Steven, dark blue for Lapis Lazuli, green for Peridot, you can say the pink boots represent Rose Quartz. I kinda messed up on the hands.
Business Woman With Bodyguard and Private Jet, kind of a long name but this one has (almost) no erase marks, using a light table I copied the original that is full of erase marks and colored it in.
I started thinking a lot about history, especially the mysteries Bronze Age Collapse. This drawing is the first time I took blending colors seriously and finding more useful tricks with a light tracer, notice the broken bronze sword she is holding. Made in late June and early July 2017.

Now these two have a crazy story: after my graduation me and my mother decided to go to Los Alamos, New Mexico to see my cousin's graduation, we drove there hundreds of times and it also was going to be an art trip. We just got past the New Mexico border when our van broke down in the middle of Lordsburg near a truck weight station (we would later learn the transfer case broke). Luckily a police officer was giving a ticket to someone behind us and then helped us out, he figured we can get it to the nearest repair shop seeing it wasn't make that clanking noise, we barely got it over the bridge when it couldn't go any further, so we called the number he gave us and two more officers came to help and got a tow truck (turns out they did something like this the night before), we also called my father to help us out. We got some of our stuff out and the police took us to Lordsburg's Denny's and they talked to the owner to let us stay until my father came and they agreed. We sat there for a long time with no internet (a good thing) and we occasionally ordered food. During this time I got my music on and drew these two above, with nice comments from the waitresses. The first one I call "Interstate 10 Girl" and the second "British School Girl". It's my first successful drawing of a pony tail and first time drawing plaid and I know, she is really cute. Dad came and we stayed at a hotel and in the morning we got all our stuff from the van (it had to stay in Lordsburg) and went back to Tucson. But the trip was not a total waste, it was also an art trip and I got some drawing done, and what are the chances the van would break down in Lordsburg? (as C-3PO would say "the chances of that happing are 3,720 to 1", just don't tell me the odds) I'd like to thank the good people of Lordsburg for helping us out, these two drawings are for you guys!

ATTENTION: I'm the original admin of this blog, let me explain. It was around 2017 that I stopped editing my blog, apparently that means I hadn't done anything to this blog for more than two years. It's 2020 now and I decided to ghost this blog entirely so I tried to get back on to make a post explaining that I'm leaving and than...I couldn't. Apparently when you're gone for two years Blogger thinks you are dead and throws the account in the can. All my comments are now marked "unknown".
ReplyDeleteI'm sure this smerf account I'm using would be make unknown in a few years as well. So why did I ghosted this blog? The answer is I moved on to other things. The "Wizard Today" is most definitely over. Well not quite, the characters are still around in my head as a new setting and story is forming. Some will be back others won't. The comics you can say are like the beta version, what I'm planing now is a webcomic. I would be big, in need of a lot of planing, it could end up being my legacy, and it may come out in like ten years . . . . . . . . . . . hey, I'm a person who likes to take their time.
So what's next? To be frank I don't really know. The "webcomic" it self doesn't have a real name, right now it's "I Stand Near Bandelier" and where will it go? Hiveworks? Webtoons? Tapas? Go independent? Who knows!
Luckily I have a Twitter: @RylandPlassmann and I'm not living that anytime soon.
One day though this blog would disappear witch is fine by me, I'm taking things one step at a time.
Think you to the two people who might be reading this, maybe no one idk.
